Listen to Advice

“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisors they succeed.”

This ancient Hebrew proverb is good in any century.  Successful plans don’t happen in a vacuum.  Plans made without counsel are not wise.  Let me make it clearer—it is foolish.

In this century we call it coaching.  It is what I have done and continue to do in so many areas of life.  From athletics to teaching, to pastoring, to leading a business and loving my extended family.  Passing on wisdom gained from life is coaching, counseling, mentoring, discipling or simply, coming alongside a person to help in their journey through life.

I have needed coaches throughout my life and the benefits of their insights have been life changing.  Objectivity from good men and women who have spoken into my journey have provided direction, hope and security.  Don’t wait until there is a crisis!!  Seek trusted people who speak into your life.  Then listen.

“The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.” Proverbs 12:15
